Kanungu Deputy Resident District Commissioner Gad Ahimbisibwe Rugaju, has intervened in a family land dispute in Rwerere B-Cell, Kibimbiri Parish, Kihiihi Sub-county calling upon calmness and co-operation between the family of the Late Nyangizi with the area residents.
The meeting brought together two sons of the Late Nyangizi, John and Thomas, Residents and Security Personnel to address wrangles involving the family’s land and a government gazzetted road that some family members allegedly want to block.
According to reports,indicate that some brothers of John and Thomas have been mistreating them, destroying government-given coffee crops and burning gardens through their worker Epafura Owomigisha, causing unrest in the community.
Local leaders including LC 3 Chairperson Nelson and LC 1 Chairperson Seperiano Tugabirwe condemned the actions and urged peace among the family members and one of the area residents Amon Arinaitwe and Charles also expressed concern over continued harassment and the attempted closure of the public road.
In conclusion, Deputy Resident District Commissioner Gad Rugaju directed the parties involved to remain calm and co-operate as investigations continue, emphasizing the need for harmony and lawful resolution of land conflicts in the area.
